The foundation stone of the new church building as it stands today was laid on the 5th 1983 by the Ambassador of the USA to Sierra Leone, Her Excellency Theresa Ann Healey. The official opening, unveiling and rededication of the new church building took place on Sunday 22nd April, 1990.
The first structure was opened in 1846. The building over the years had several renovations and structural improvements.
In 1940, the wooden windows were replaced by steel windows. In 1982, the rebuilding and extension of the church’s structure was started. The ceremony of turning of the sod took place on the 7th November, 1982.
